1. Scope
This policy applies to all monetary and in-kind contributions made to Precilla Charitable Trust (“Trust”). It outlines terms for refunds, cancellations, and reallocation requests.
2. Non-Refundable Donations
- All donations are final and non-refundable once processed successfully.
- Ensures immediate allocation of funds to critical programs: elderly care support and disaster relief.
3. Exceptional Refund Circumstances
Refunds may be considered only for:
- Duplicate Transactions: Donor erroneously charged more than once.
- Unauthorized Transactions: Proven fraud or chargebacks.
- Legal Requirements: Refunds mandated by law or regulatory authorities.
4. Refund Request Process
- Submission: Write to Finance Department within 30 days, including:
- Donor name, contact details
- Donation date, amount, transaction ID
- Refund reason and supporting documents
- Acknowledgment: Confirmation within 5 business days; may request additional details.
- Processing: Approved refunds issued within 15–30 business days to original payment method.
5. Cancellation of Recurring Donations
- Cancel anytime via email or payment portal.
- Provide at least 7 days’ notice before next scheduled transaction to avoid that installment.
6. In-Kind Donations
- Physical contributions (clothes, food) cannot be refunded.
- Unusable items may be reallocated to partner charities, subject to Trust approval.
7. Tax Treatment & Receipts
- Refunded donations void associated tax receipts; donors must not claim deductions.
- Trust updates records post-refund to comply with Income Tax Act requirements.
